dc.description.abstractThe presence of at least two types of Wolbachia, were detected in wild and insectarium Rhodnius pallescens, natural vector of Trypanosoma cruzi and T. rangeli. Wolbachia was detected in all the organs and tissues studied and in the feces, which represents a methodological advantage when determining the presence of the endosymbiont in this host, obviating the need to neutralize the specimen. The occurrence of trypanosomatids in wild individuals was also studied.
