Abstract
This is a story about an old man and a grizzly bear who take turns chasing each other. The grizzly bear finally flees in terror from the old man's rattle.
Description
The original manuscript of this story is in the Truman Michelson Collection of the Smithsonian Institution's National Anthropological Archives. It was written by Young Bear sometime between 1911 and 1938. The version given here was transcribed, phonemicized, otherwise edited, and translated by Lucy Thomason.
