dc.description.abstractThe type specimen for Gesneria triflora was not specified in the original 1842 publication. Through a search of the literature and a search of the specimens in herbaria where the plant collections of original authors and their colleagues reside, we were able to determine which specimens were studied by the original authors and selected one as lectotype.
