dc.description.abstract This monograph reports archaeological fieldwork conducted in Groswater Bay, Labrador, in collaboration with the Nunatsiavut Archaeology Program, and surveys and excavations on the Quebec lower North Shore between Blanc Sablon and St. Paul River. The report describes sites and collections, presents details of the excavations and collections and makes interpretations about the prehistory and early history of these regions. special attention is given to the 17-18th century occupation of the QLNS by Inuit who migrated into this Subarctic region during the Little Ice Age and engaged in complicated relationships with Basque, French, English, and Innu peoples. en
