Abstract:
This is a winter story about a woman who is impregnated by the sun and who later has to rescue her sons, a boy and a puppy, from Toad-Woman. Her sons then rescue their mother's brothers from the ogre who killed them.

The original manuscript of this story is in the Truman Michelson Collection of the Smithsonian Institution's National Anthropological Archives. It was written by Maggie Morgan sometime between 1911 and 1938. The version given here was transcribed, phonemicized, otherwise edited, and translated by Lucy Thomason.
