Abstract

A specimen in the Museum Alexander Koenig collected in Colombia is shown to be a hybrid between Calliphlox mitchelhi and Chaetocercus mulsant. This is the first known example of intergeneric hybridization between species in these presumably closely related genera. External measurements of the hybrids are consistent with the proposed parental hypothesis.
