Marva Griffin Wilshire is the "godmother of Italian design." Interviewed by Michelle Joan Wilkinson, the black Venezuelan polyglot recounts her journey from childhood in El Callao, Venezuela to her career in Milan, Italy where she founded SaloneSatellite, a fair for emerging designers within the Salone del Mobile furniture fair.
