His subject: Maternal Brood Care by Dendrobates pumilia: a Frog that Feeds its Young. ABSTRACT: Female strawberry dart poison frogs transport tadpoles from terrestrial nest sites and deposit them in water-filled leaf axils. Periodically they fed the tadpoles unfertilized eggs; offspring deprived of maternal care died. That afternoon at 4:30 p.m.. Dr. EGBERT LEIGH will be giving the first of a series of talks on coevolution between male secondary sexual characters and female choice. The talk will analyze Kirpatrick's Two-Locus Model.
