Biglump1.zip contains 1990 census data from big files (data from buttressed trees), and has data from all columns combined.  It has two file, bigmul.90 and bigsingl.90, which carry the original data from the big files.  Note that many of these data -- some diameters, heights of measurements, cylindricity codes -- are not included in the final datasets for 1990, and thus must be kept.  The records are sorted by column.  

Other data from big files are stored in biglump2.zip.

Bigmul.90 has only those big trees that had more than 1 stem.  It has 134 records, with 11 or more entries per record:
1) column

3) diameter at breast height (mm)
4) diameter at the 1985 height (mm)
5) the 1985 height (m)
6) a code for whether bole was cylindrical at 1985 height (y=yes, n=no)
7) the  diameter at the 1990 height (mm)
8) the 1990 height (mm)
9) a code for bole cylindricity at 1990 height
10) the number of stems (including the big one)
11 and above) diameters of secondary stems (mm, all taken at breast height).

Bigsingl.90 has only those big trees that had 1 stem.  It has 2046 records, with exactly the same entries as bigmul90, except there are no secondary stems and thus no additional diameters.
